We need funds for various reasons, to buy caravans, pay for the petrol of volunteer drivers to tow caravans down the country and also ship the caravans over by ferry. As of 1st November we have 43 caravans on site. As more and more caravans go in and the camp pass system is in place, we also need someone on the site to meet the caravans, take them to the correct zone, and set them up.
It’s near impossible to give a donation figure to a caravan because it depends entirely on the individual caravan/driver situation. We primerily offer shelter to refugees but we also offer other forms od mobile support. This includes but not exclusive too anything mobile like vans to distribute, trailers, buses, catering units, medic centres and information points. We also support beyond Calais.
We have been donated lots of caravans, and also had self funding drivers (some even funding the ferry/train crossing). Some of our funds are used to cover expenses that help the project run safely.
